Project 1: The Sound Buffer

The Sound Buffer is a community center located in Farmingdale, New York, designed in response to the site's surrounding transportation infrastructure and associated noise conditions. Utilizing a circular building form, the design creates a protective buffer between the exterior environment and a central courtyard, providing a calm and welcoming space for community interaction. The project integrates educational, recreational, athletic, and social programs while promoting connection, accessibility, and user well-being.
